I-PATH Graded Examinations
Emma Louise Dance Club pupils have the opportunity to take I-PATH examinations. Examinations are not compulsory. Children will only be entered for examinations if they have reached the required standard.
I-PATH qualifications are regulated by Ofqual making the grades internationally recognised. UCAS points are available at grades 6, 7 and 8, supporting students progression onto university.
Examinations are a Recorded Video Exam. Emma Louise Dance Club films the exam and sends the recording to I-PATH for evaluation. Children will be examined by an external examiner and the final mark will be based on their practical examination. I-PATH Examiners use a standardised mark scheme. Examiners are looking for consistent competent technique and performance ability, as well as knowledge of what children have been studying.
Children will be required to attend a exam practice session and the examination day.
Successful children will receive a report card, certificate and medal from I-PATH.
Children must work hard in class and practice at home to prepare for the exam.

RQF is the Regulated Qualification Framework for general and vocational qualifications. The number of UCAS points awarded depends on the examination result e.g at Grade 6 a pass equals 8 UCAS points & distinction equals 14 UCAS points. A Vocational examination route is available for children considering a professional career in dance. Examination Fee includes I-PATH Exam Fee and a contribution to ELDC for hall hire.
I-PATH Achievement Awards
Achievement Awards provide Emma Louise Dance Club with a way to recognise children's achievements and efforts over time. Achievement Awards are not compulsory. Children will only be entered for Achievement Awards if they have reached the required standard.
Achievement Awards are assessed by an I-PATH examiner.
Achievement Awards are perfect for children who may not feel ready to complete a graded examination. This option allows children to be rewarded for their progress.
It is not possible to fail an Achievement Award as these are about building confidence and self esteem.
Children will receive the award (rosette, medal, star, shield, cup or trophy) certificate and report card.

Examination Uniform
Children must be correctly dressed in official Emma Louise Dance Club uniform for I-PATH Graded Examinations and I-PATH Achievement Awards. Uniform is important for health and safety. Uniform allows the examiner to view children's movements clearly.
Uniform should be clean and well fitting and underwear should not be visible.
Dance shoes should be clean, correctly fitted and securely fastened.
Hair should be neatly and appropriately styled for the genre.
Glasses may be worn.
Jewellery and watches must not be worn
Children age 11 and under must not wear make up or nail varnish
Children age 12+ may wear make up. Makeup and nail varnish should be light and kept to a minimum.
Wearing the correct uniform with neat hair style helps children to feel confident, focused and ready to perform their best.
